How To: Download Mobile (Connected Community) App

Access the Member Community via app!
Make the most of your experience by having access to your LeadingAge Texas community wherever you are. 

Let's walk through how to download the Connected Community mobile app.

  1. On your mobile device, navigate to your platform's App Store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).
  2. Search for Connected Community.
  3. Download the app.       

How to Log In to the Connected Community app 

  1. Enter the domain: community.leadingagetexas.org
  2. Tap Next
  3. Enter your email address and password (the same as your credentials for leadingagetexas.org)
  4. Tap Login

NOW, START INTERACTING! 

Along with viewing content other members share, contributing your own is likely one of the main activities you'll engage in. So, let's learn the various ways you can do so using the Higher Logic mobile app.

Get Started: The App Menu is located at the bottom of your screen. Your menu items ae Feed, Directory, My Profile, & Settings

Contribute Content - Start at the Feed

You can only contribute content while viewing the Feed. 

Post a NEW Discussion or Question

  1. Once on the Feed, Tap the blue (+) icon at the bottom right of the screen.
  2. Tap Content Type and select Start a Thread.
  3. Tap Community and select the community in which to post your thread. You'll be able to choose from any communities you belong to, as well as any public communities.
  4. Next, under 'Focus Thread as' you'll choose Discussion or Question.
  5. Enter your Subject and Write your discussion (or question). 
  6. (Optional) Tap the paperclip icon to attach a file (image, video, etc.) and/or the chain icon to insert a hyperlink.
  7. Tap Post to add your discussion or question to the chosen community.

                                              

AVAILABLE FEATURES

Interacting is going to feel like your standard social media interface (think: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) and should be just as easy! Use these tools to make the most of your experience!

@mentions

@mention someone if you think they would be interested in participating in the thread!

  • When creating a new discussion, type the '@' symbol. The 'Mention User' feature will pop-up, where you can search for the person you're trying to include.
  • Select the desired member from the list of suggestions, this will become a hyperlink to the selected member's profile.
  • What happens after I @mention someone? 

    • When a member is @mentioned, they'll receive an email notification letting them know, along with a link to the post so he can easily participate. These notifications are sent to a member's profile Inbox.

#tags

While creating a discussion, question, or Library Entry, you can include one or more #tags directly in the text field. These are going to categorize your content and making it easier to find!

  • For example, if 15 members tag their content with #2021conference, all 15 pieces of content can be viewed simply by tapping the tag when viewing the Feed.

How to add a tag to your content:

  1. at the end of your discussion post type the '#' symbol - the 'Add Tag' feature will pop up. On the resulting page, start typing the name of the tag. As you type, a list of suggestions will appear.
    1. If your #tag does not currently exist, you can create a new tag!
    2. REMEMBER! Do NOT use spaces when typing a multi-word #tag

Like & Comment!

Like & Comment directly from your feed! With the App it's easier than ever to communicate with your fellow members!

TROUBLESHOOTING 

Is the app giving you trouble? Are you not able to get through or getting a '500 error'? Try these tips! 

  • Power off your phone completely, turn it back on, and try again.
  • Is your phone running on the most recent software update? Make sure your phone is up to date.
  • If you have already downloaded the app, make sure there are no app updates needed (can do this from the App store/Google Play)
    • if the issue persists, delete the app completely and then redownloaded it.
