The Buckingham, a premier senior living community in Houston, is pleased to announce Cory Thompson, MBA, LNFA, CALM, as its new healthcare administrator. Thompson brings over a decade of leadership to the position with expertise in budget and census management, regulatory compliance, and teambuilding.
Cory Thompson began his career as a Healthcare Administrator in 2011 leading a small skilled nursing facility in Belville, TX. Since then, he has led multiple skilled nursing facilities for both for profit and nonprofit organizations such HMG Healthcare and Buckner Retirement Services. Cory was nominated for the LeadingAge-Texas Excellence in Leadership Award in 2019. In 2016 Cory led a team to the AHCA/NCAL Bronze Commitment to Quality Award. He has also led two communities to Texas Health and Human Services Commission deficiency free Healthcare Surveys. Cory is a native Houstonian and enjoys serving through his work and involvement with organizations such as his church and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

As The Buckingham’s new healthcare administrator, Thompson will be tasked with ensuring safety, compliance and best care practices for the assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing levels of living at The Buckingham.
Thompson earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston and his bachelor’s in business administration from Devry University. He has his long-term care administration certification and is a certified assisted living manager.
