Hargett will continue to serve as the executive director of Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo, Texas while also supporting additional Buckner senior living communities.
Buckner Retirement Services has promoted @Aaron Hargett to the role of senior executive director, effective June 1, 2023. In the role, Hargett will continue to serve as executive director of Baptist Retirement Community, a Buckner senior living community in San Angelo, Texas, while also supporting the executive directors of five additional Buckner communities.
Hargett’s new role will also involve participating in the strategic growth of Buckner, providing input in organizational budget planning, ensuring the high standards of Buckner residents are met consistently across all communities, and assisting with special projects.
“I truly love every part of serving the residents at Baptist Retirement Community, and I am excited about the opportunity to use my experience, talents, and skills to support our amazing team of executive directors across all Buckner communities,” said Hargett.
“Strategic collaboration and the sharing of ideas is how we continue to achieve the highest potential of service.”
Hargett joined the Baptist Retirement Community senior leadership team in 2007. Prior to becoming the executive director in 2017, he served as Baptist Retirement Community’s home health and hospice administrator and director of independent living. A West Texas-native, Hargett graduated from Angelo State University with a master’s degree in clinical psychology and a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Hargett has worked in the health care industry for more than 25 years, and LeadingAge Texas recently named him the network representative for the West Texas network.
“Aaron has extensive experience in healthcare and senior living, and it’s that depth of experience that makes him such a valuable resource to the team at Baptist Retirement Community,” said Michael Olmstead, vice president and chief operating officer for Buckner Retirement Services.
“In this new role, he can continue to excel at leading our San Angelo community while also providing strategic insight to our organization and mentorship and support to our executive director team.”
Hargett takes over the role of senior executive director from @Abraham Mathew, who was promoted earlier in the year to the role of director of operations for Buckner Retirement Services. Hargett will report to Mathew.
